Professional Wins of 2024

2024 was a year of major growth and new opportunities for me, and I had some big professional wins as a senior technical instructional designer.

The accomplishments I am most proud of from the last year include:

  • Earning my PMP. This was my biggest professional achievement of the year because it enabled me to succeed on all of my other projects. I prepared gradually over a year, but ramped up my studying in the months leading up to the exam. The exam day itself was a disaster and I learned that you should always opt for the testing center over a home exam. But in the end I passed the test in all areas and now I’m a certified project manager for the next three years. Wanting my career to grow more into program management than people management, this has been the perfect fit.

  • Launching CSG Credentials. I served and continue to serve as program manager for this digital credentialing program which rolled out mid-year. It’s hard to believe I led the pilot way back in 2023, and got the program approved and adopted. We are now offering for badges and certificates for course and pathway completions, leadership program graduations, partner workshop attendance, and various other qualifications. It has been so cool to see recipients take advantage of their credentials and share them to LinkedIn. Our engagement rate is about 68%, which is 49% above Accredible’s average.

  • Managing the creation of an enablement website called the Professional Services Portal. I served as project manager through the MVP and soft launch of this resource, which is now available to thousands of employees and has had over 16,906 views and 3,341 unique visitors in 2024. The team consisted of a UX designer, content developers, a digital librarian, and me, the project manager. We worked together to publish a central resource for all of the processes, templates, and guides so that project teams deliver with the same level of consistency regardless of region or account.

  • Developing a self-serve learning pathway for our Platform Engineering (PE) team to decrease the volume of support tickets. To increase project teams’ independence, I created a resource bank for just-in-time troubleshooting to alleviate some of that pressure on our PE team, so they could spend more time on their projects and not responding to tickets. Rather than the previous PowerPoint presentation recording, content now consists of video demos, quick reference guides, and infographics. Learners who pass a series of real world challenges earn a credential for their new skills. So far support tickets are down 3%, and the pathway has only rolled out to a fraction of its full intended audience.

  • Building 7 on-demand modules to cross-skill employees on a new CPQ product we acquired. This was extremely challenging as we didn’t have access to an environment for the entirety of the project. I served as the lead ID for this and utilized SMEs, documentation, PPTs, and vILT recordings to create the new modules. The 7 modules are part of an overview pathway so internal employees can familiarize themselves with the new product that we are beginning to sell in our solutions.

It’s going to be hard to top 2024, as it felt like a pivotal year in my career journey. In 2025, I am taking over as team Scrum Master, so I will continue to push myself and take on new challenges.
