Working for a global tech company, I create a lot of customized training for customers around the world. Read this post for some ideas on how to localize training.
Localization is customizing training offerings for local contexts. If your HR portal has different resources depending on employees’ locations, that’s an example of localization.
How can you start doing this for customers? Here are some initial ideas.
Separate core from custom offerings in your content library.
Incorporate customer branding and style guides.
Translate, dub, or caption materials.
Review material for cultural sensitivity.
Verify unique solution workflows.
These are all relatively quick to implement. Beyond these easy wins, there are more complex and strategic moves like in-depth consulting and solution-based technical training, but those take more time and support.
The ideas I listed above require putting basic processes in place and then you will be ready to go!
