I brought together my volunteer work at the Lifeline Animal Shelter and my professional network from ATD Greater Atlanta, and a great time was had by all!
A group of us local ATD folks met up and spent a couple hours playing with cats and dogs. The animals don’t get a lot of socialization because shelters are underfunded and short-staffed, so any enrichment is a huge help!
Here were a few of the great dogs we met:
🐾 We got to play with a bunch of my favorite dogs but Blu was definitely the crowd favorite as he kept backing his booty up to sit in peoples’ laps. His 60+ pound weight is irrelevant; that’s a lap dog.
🐾 And the puppy Dice, a doberman mix, discovered a neon green squeaky ball and used his entire time with us to play a game of “keep away.”
🐾 Mahala found her favorite human and stared at her with nothing but love in her eyes.
🐾 Kaz is one of my favorites to walk because he is so affectionate and gentle. Another big ole lap dog!
If your employer offers Volunteer Time Off (VTO) as a benefit, use it, don’t lose it! It’s one of my favorite things about working for CSG.
