Visual Design Tools

What tool do I use when I need to design a really basic visual?

I create a lot of one-pagers to promote new learning opportunities at CSG.

They have a wide variety of uses: some go out as email attachments to customers, and some I use to socialize programs internally.

Attached to this post is an example I made. I want you to guess which tool I made to create this visual.

Did I use:

  • Adobe Illustrator?

  • PowerPoint?

  • Canva?

Ultimately, I don’t think the tool really matters. It’s the human design element that is more important. Every tool has shapes, color droppers, and masking.

I posted a couple weeks ago that I feel the same way about LMS functionality. You control the user experience with your design choices.

No matter what license your team has, build up a core set of templates with company branding and you will be just fine.

So, what did I use?

Now that we’ve reached the end of the post, I’ll reveal… I used NONE OF THE ABOVE! I created this visual in Google Slides. 😜

This visual would look the same built in any of the aforementioned tools.
