Mentoring Opportunity
Hi teacher friends! I made the leap from the classroom to the corporate world, and wanted to offer myself up as a free resource if you’ve thought about doing the same.
Starting in October, I will be serving as a mentor for TEACHING: A Path to Learning and Development, but I also wanted to extend the invitation to my direct community.
I don’t want to come across like I’m trying to convince teachers to leave the classroom. It's just been my experience that teachers are underpaid, overworked, or treated as scapegoats, and that can be exhausting. This last year has been particularly traumatizing for educators.
K-12 Education really does share many skills required in instructional design, corporate training, eLearning development, or performance consulting. You’d still be designing learning experiences, but for adults in the workplace! Your future workplace could be corporate, higher ed, government, or non-profits.
If you have any questions about what that transition looked like, or what steps to take, let me know, and please, don’t be shy. I had a lot of help along the way and I’d LOVE to pay it forward.
