How many of you use automations at work? Power Automate is my bff, personally. I use it to issue credentials weekly, generate story cards for ongoing projects, and send agendas out before meetings.
So why aren’t we using automations in our personal lives more? As an example, many personal finance experts (such as Ramit Sethi and Tori Dunlop) praise automations for saving, investing, and paying bills.
I’ve actually set up 4 different automated transfers that have changed my life for the better: each month, I send money to my 401(k), Roth IRA, brokerage account, and high-yield savings account.
I also have recurring reminders that support me as a home owner to do things like schedule gutter cleanings, replace air filters, apply pest control treatment, and visually inspect the basement. Automated alerts and nudges keep me on top of things.
Automations provide peace of mind as they take running lists out of your brain and guarantee you’ll make progress. I love having a system in place for tasks so I don’t have to worry to remember everything.
What automations support you in your personal and professional life?
