“How can change management principles support my projects?” That was a question I recently asked myself as I underwent the Prosci Certified Change Practitioner training.
One of the best parts of the course is that all participants have to bring a real-world case study to use as their sample project. I got to hear about all sorts of initiatives where change management could help move things along more effectively.
Here are some examples of corporate projects where change management can assist:
- Rolling out new performance review cycles
- Migrating to a new LMS
- Integrating L&D teams after a merger
- Aligning disparate credentialing programs into a unified approach
- Shifting company culture to emphasize new guiding principles
- Reorganizing departmental structure after a strategic pivot
In each of these examples, change management can cultivate buy-in, reduce ambiguity, and prepare employees for the upcoming transition. It’s useful regardless of industry or organization.
