If you are a globally dispersed team who gets the chance to meet up in person, what is the best way to use that time?
Focus on innovation. In-person meetups are not the time for business as usual. Instead, plan team-building activities, strategic planning, and prioritizing for the year ahead. Brainstorming and ideating to solve team problems are also valuable.
I got to meet up with my team recently in Omaha and we had a great balance of an AI bootcamp, leadership alignment, and…duckpin bowling!
Often team socials revolve around sports so I’d be really interested in planning a different type of activity like visiting an art district or local museum next time. Escape rooms, walking tours, culinary experiences; there are so many options for when your team gets together face to face.
