So you are an instructional designer who wants to start posting on LinkedIn. What should you write about?
Writing on LinkedIn led to my current position, because I gained a referral at CSG. It also led to my opportunity to write an ATD guide on credentialing.
If you are newer, you might not know where to start. Here are three quick ideas to kick off your LinkedIn posting journey:
1. Give examples of a real life project. Work out loud, and explain your process and tools, as well as the outcomes.
2. Summarize instructional design theories and models. This shows you know your stuff!
3. Share what you learned from webinars, books, or articles. Giving back to the community is a great way to engage on LinkedIn.
I have a regular posting schedule; Tuesdays I do a unique blog post, Thursday is a rotating schedule where on the first Thursday of each month I always post what Iām reading, the second Thursday is a real world project, the third Thursday is something I learned, and the fourth Thursday is the benefits of remote work.
I find posting regularly on LinkedIn to be a very positive experience, and I like that it makes me reflect and document my professional growth. I hope this post sparked some of your own ideas for how to share your experience with other IDs out there.
