Credentialing Program Manager

What does a credentialing program manager do?

I’m the credentialing program manager at the global tech company I work for. While that’s not an official job title at my company, it is the role I perform as a senior technical instructional designer, as well as Scrum Master for the ID team.

What does a credentialing program manager do? Here’s an insight to the actual tasks that make up my position.

βœ… Consults with business partners to understand use cases and see how we can support their initiatives.
βœ… Considers governance and continuity by maintaining resources and writing quick reference guides to document our processes.
βœ… Manages the technical infrastructure which currently includes a vendor platform and our LMS. We haven’t implemented APIs and automation yet. Keeping our IT and legal informed of the security and architecture are part of this.
βœ… Controls the budget, including purchase orders and account credits.
βœ… Implements communications and marketing through a variety of channels like newsletters, bulletins, and announcements. Right now this is internal only.
βœ… Performs measurement, analysis, and reporting by harnessing data from the credentialing platform and feeding that information up to the program sponsor.
βœ… Serves as a point of contact for vendors.
βœ… Leads individual contributors like administrators, coordinating efforts to run the day-to-day program operations.

This is probably only the tip of the iceberg. Program managers are a jack-of-all-trades and we need to be comfortable wearing many hats.

Essentially, I execute. I make things happen. The program sponsor can count on me to make sure CSG Credentials is delivering business value.
